Data reduction algorithm for correlated data in the smart grid

Smart grids are intelligent electrical networks that incorporate information and communication technology (ICT) to provide data services for the power grid. In this paper, ICT requirements monitoring control of neighbourhood area network level smart grid, with particular emphasis on making infrastructure energy efficient, analysed. One approach efficiency in system is develop a reduction algorithm reduce volume prior transmission. Thus, compression technique called DRACO (data correlated data) shows reasonable ratio while using resources efficiently designed developed. can be applied high sampling rate, transmit essential ratios 70%–99%. The results applying real collected by devices located University Manchester campus discussed, followed evaluation validation comparing it other available techniques. Finally, concluded suitable grid applications since optimizes resource consumption reduces cost maintaining integrity quality data.
